Lecture: Historical Vestments, Mission San Luis Rey Collection

Did you know that Mission San Luis Rey has one of the largest collections of historical vestments in California?

Anabelle Camp, Kress Conservation Fellow at Balboa Art Conservation Center is a textile conservator who has surveyed Mission San Luis Rey’s vestment collection recently. She will introduce our visitors to the wonderful world of historical textiles, old chasubles, beautiful beaded tassels, and silk and velvet ribbons that used to adorn the liturgical vestments that the Mission friars wore in the past. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to peak at the wonderful collection of vestments Mission San Luis Rey is proud to preserve.
